A gesture of protest against the prohibition formulated by Fifa to wear the armband “One Love”, synonymous with the fight against homophobia, in a country, Qatar, where homosexual relations are liable to criminal prosecution.

This striking scene initiated by the players of the Mannschaft » is not the only political expression that has burst into the stadiums since the start of the competition. England, which was one of the nations wishing to promote the “One Love” armband, opted for the knee to the ground, a gesture inherited from the “Black Lives Matter” movement and already accomplished by the “Three Lions” in the past.
