We are in 1958: the photographer Raymond Cauchetier then returns from Indochina where he met Graham Greene. He reconverted on his arrival in France. Tired of the war, Cauchetier passes on the sets of young filmmakers. He has an eye, and what an eye!

He captures Belmondo and Jean Seberg on the Champs-Elysées, surprises Truffaut and Jean-Pierre Léaud on the rooftops of Paris, is next to Jacques Rozier’s camera for “Adieu Philippine”… Two hundred and thirty photos that concentrate all the madness , the talent, the energy of a unique moment. Godard has fun, Anouk Aimée poses, Jeanne Moreau sings. We never tire of leafing through the pages of this album, nostalgia and wonder mixed together. Raymond Cauchetier, amused witness to cultural history, left us in 2021. He was 101 years old.
